HOUSTON, TX, October 24, 2005 - Congratulations to 1 Houston Center, 2 Houston Center, 4 Houston Center, 5 Houston Center and the Shops at Houston Center, for receiving the Energy Star Award. The chief engineers involved in attaining the Energy Star are Karl Rush, Felix Tijerina and Kris Zimmerman, and a special thanks to chief engineer Paul Dudkowski who led the Houston Center teams in receiving this award. This recognition is a reflection of the superb effort by the engineering teams. ![]() "In today's market, where we are experiencing increasing energy prices and a competitive leasing market, the Energy Star Program gives Crescent an edge," says Franks Staats, vice president property management for Houston Center. "The Energy Star tells our customers and partners that Crescent understands energy conservation. The annual Energy Star application process is rigorous and lengthy, which is a reflection of the dedication and commitment of the Houston Center team." The Energy Star program is an energy-management strategy designed to offer positive recognition to facilities that are environmentally aware and to further assist these companies in improving their energy consumption and performance. The process includes benchmarking energy consumption data and on-site certification by a mechanical engineer. The award Star distinguishes a building as one of the top 25 percent in the nation in terms of energy performance, and makes it a testament to improving the environment, as well as Crescent's bottom line. This award demonstrates environmental leadership and allows others to recognize these Houston Center buildings as a top energy performer. |
