Strip House Breaks Ground
New York City's The Glazier Group to open Strip House in Houston

Houston, TX - Houston, we have a naughty steakhouse! Manhattan-based restaurateurs Peter and Penny Glazier announce the late-October opening of Strip House at the Shops at Houston Center, 1200 McKinney Street. Receiving raves, NYC's red-hot Strip House is heralded as one of the top five steakhouses by Zagat Survey. New York Magazine claims Strip House has the "Best Steak in New York".

"Houston has a diverse food scene, a vibrant social setting, and people with discriminating taste," said Peter Glazier, Chairman and CEO of The Glazier Group. "Since the mid eighties, when I was here for business I felt this city and I had a future. So, when we decided to expand into another market, we were sold by the commitment Crescent Real Estate has to the rejuvenation of downtown. Much like New York City, Houston is eclectic and invigorating."

An American steakhouse, Executive Chef David Walzog's menu is known for perfectly charred cuts of beef as well as it's creamy Foie Gras, Colorado rack of lamb crusted in Dijon-seasoned bread crumbs, and inspired side dishes such as goose fat potatoes and truffle cream spinach.

The architectural visionary behind The Glazier Group's Strip House is David Rockwell who plays on the double entendre inherent in the name has found whimsical expression in the design. The luscious, all-red interior adorned with rich, luxurious materials including silk, velvets, leather and trims is enhanced with seductive, rosy lighting and the walls are adorned with photos of vintage French burlesque stars. Co-owner Penny Glazier describes Strip House as an environment that engages the senses.

The new restaurant will seat 140 in the main dining room and 40 in the bar area. There will also be three private dining areas, two of which will seat 12 and the other seating 18, as well as a private party room, which can accommodate up to 80 people.

Strip House will be open for dinner Sunday - Thursday from 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM and on Friday - Saturday from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
